There were a few technical issues during the performance which I found after – the webcam which was meant to stream live failed and just recorded the first and final frames, thankfully it did record all the audio! The Gopro recording also seems to have a few problems, though possibly arising during the transfer from the msd card.

Picture Frame Seduction – Hand of the Rider
When I started looking at music connections to Haverfordwest and Pembrokeshire I found mention of a punk band called ‘Picture Frame Seduction’. Although I had never heard them, I remembered the band name from years ago as Steve Parkin, a good friend of my oldest brother, was in the band. Wikipedia tells me he was the bassist from 1984-87.
‘Picture Frame Seduction’ still continue to play and record with original member Keith Haynes and in 2012 their 1985 album ‘Hand of the Rider’ was reissued on vinyl. I found a copy through Discogs.
I asked my brother if he had any original vinyl from the time and he found me this compilation, it is badly warped but will still play (sort of).

So the collection and the database continue to grow.
About half the records in the database say where the records came from, and some have specific information as to why I was there. ‘Haverfordwest dentist run’ refers to a visit to the emergency dentist to have an excruciating tooth pulled. I remember wandering around the town with a numb jaw, trying not to dribble. ‘Haverfordwest, Mothers Day Outing 09’ speaks for itself, my mum loved a day out in Haverfordwest.

A recording from a performance at the National Eisteddfod in Haverfordwest 1972. I found the record in the Paul Sartori charity shop in Haverford recently.

In 2006 I bought an enormous amount of records as a job lot from a garage in St Dogmaels, Pembrokeshire. I was living in Llechryd at the time and had a great barn to store them in while my good friend Sam Knight made some shelving units to hold them.

Once on the shelves I started to make a database of all the records I have, including a fair amount from before the mass purchase. There are actually four databases, one for 12 inch records, one for 7 inch, one for 10 inch and one for all the others. They look something like this….

These have grown over the years following and have about 4000 entries in the 12 inch, 2000 7 inch and 1000 10 inch. They mostly include track listings and many have an entry in the comment field to remind me where they came from. This lets me find multiple versions of a track or identify records that came from the same place.
